 Abstract

A field experiment was carried out at the research farm of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University to investigate the late seeding high temperature responses of 48 wheat genotypes in terms of pre-anthesis reserve translocation. Under late seeding environment most of the long grain-filling durated genotypes (group I) were less dependent on per-anthesis photosynthetic reserve but were more dependent on current photosynthesis. On the other hand, most of the short grain-filling durated genotypes (group II) were more dependent on pre-anthesis photosynthetic reserve and less dependent on current photosynthesis, which ultimately affected the grain yield under late seeding environment.
