 Abstract

An experiment was conducted with two exotic grape varieties, Zakkao and Black Pearl at two agro-ecological zones of Bangladesh. Quality attributes and storage performance were evaluated in the study at Kashimpur and Shiddirganj, Bangladesh. Data were recorded in fruits from one year old plants on moisture content, dry matter content, vitamin C, titratable acidity, reducing sugar, total sugar, non-reducing sugar, total soluble solid (TSS) and pH. Chemical analyses showed that variety Black Pearl had the higher vitamin C content, titratable acidity and non-reducing sugar compared to those of Zakkao variety. Insignificant variations were found in the moisture content, dry matter content, reducing sugar, total sugar and TSS content between the varieties. Grapes grown at Kashimpur had the higher percentage of titratable acidity, reducing sugar, total sugar, TSS and pH value as compared to those of the grapes grown at Siddirganj. Shelf life was statistically similar in both the varieties and locations.
