Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at the research farm of Seed Technology Division, BARI, Gazipur, during 2013-2014 to know the optimum number of fruit retaining on the plant for quality seed production of capsicum. The experiment comprised five treatments, such as T1= control, T2= 2 fruit retained, T3=4 fruit retained, T4= 6 fruit retained and T5=8 fruit retained. It was found that fruit load had significant effect on yield as well as quality of seeds. The highest germination (90.67%) was observed in treatment four where six fruits were retained, but all other treatments showed lower (above eighty percent) of germination. However, maximum seed yield (194.9kg) was recorded from treatment five where eight fruits were retained.
Key words: Sweet pepper quality, fruit load and yield.
