A study was conducted during Rabi season of 2018-19 at three
different stations of the of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute
(Joydebpur, Dinajpur and Bogra) to study the performance of three selected
lentil genotypes (BLX-010014-9, ILI-5143, BARI and Moshur-3) under drought and
irrigated conditions. The experimental design was randomized complete block
design (RCBD) with three replications. Plant height, pod plant-1, seed pod-1,
thousand seed weight and seed yield varied significantly under drought (rainfed)
and irrigated situations in both the research areas. The highest plant height
was found in BLX-010014-9 followed by BARI Masur 3 and ILI-5143 under both the
situation. BLX-010014-9 gave the highest Number of pods plant-1 (45.63)
followed by the genotype ILI-5143 (42.13).
The highest number of seeds pod-1 was observed with genotype
BLX-010014-9 (1.96) under irrigated condition whereas, the lowest number of seeds pod-1 was found in
BARI Masur-3 (1.12) under drought condition. So, it might be concluded that
BLX-0100114-9 is more drought tolerant among the tested genotypes.
